SuperVision - Telescopic

Today is the release date for our buddy SuperVision's debut album, Telescopic, on Pretty Lights Music. By listening to his work, you can tell that SuperVision is not focusing on one particular sound. He gets most of his inspiration from digging through crates of records in search of samples for his music. His tunes have elements of hip-hop and electro, but he doesn't want to be pigeonholed into one specific genre. “I just want to give the people something they can dance to that has emotion", says the 28-year old producer. SuperVision has been living in Denver for the past year or so, mastering his craft and planning his assault. Recently, he returned to his hometown here in Dallas to play a handful of shows to packed houses at Green Elephant, Elm St. Bar, and Beauty Bar. M83 - Midnight City Remix EP

“Midnight City” is the first single from the forthcoming double-album, “Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming”, by French musician M83. The album comes out on October 18th, but tomorrow he will release the remix EP for the single via Mute. The EP will come with the album original, along with remixes by Big Black Delta, Trentemøller, Man Without Country, and Team Ghost. M83 is about to embark on a World tour, in which he is currently looking for a touring multi-instrumentalist to join him for the trek. You can apply for the role here. If you do not play many different instruments and just want to catch M83 live, you can see him at the Fun Fun Fun Fest in Austin on November 5th. Yeasayer - O.N.E. (Psychic Soundsystem Remix)

Dallas DJ's Blake Ward and Redsean have put out a remix under their Psychic Soundsystem project. They have remixed Yeasayer's 2010 hit "O.N.E.", giving it a dark disco vibe. This is the second remix from the local duo, they previously remixed Toro Y Moi's "Still Sound" earlier this year. Be sure to check out Blake Ward at Beauty Bar on Friday nights. Redsean will be one of our guests at this week's Group Therapy at Elm St. Bar, alongside myself, Jason Acton, and our other guest JP Oglesby. Little Dragon - Ritual Union (An-Ten-Nae Remix)

San Francisco's An-Ten-Nae has a new remix of Little Dragon's "Ritual Union" out now for free download. An-Ten-Nae's bass driven approach of remixing is not typical. He experiments with many forms of bass music, making a sound he likes to call "Acid Crunk". Over the last year he has done remixes of tracks by M.I.A., Major Lazer, Black Sabbath, Reggie Watts, and others. An-Ten-Nae “The Live Experience", features an audio visual barrage including live drums and synths combined with dramatic theatrical and visual stimulation. An-Ten-Nae is in Dallas tonight for a DJ set at the Creme de la Creme party at the House Of Blues' Cambridge Room. He will be joined by LDFD and De La Vaughan. Beats Antique - Revival Remix EP

Experimental dance band Beats Antique have released a remix EP for their single "Revival". The release, which also includes the original track, comes with remixes by the likes of Sidecar Tommy, Pussymonster, Jed & Lucia, MartyParty, and David Starfire. You can download the 7-track album for free in various audio formats. Beats Antique will be coming to Dallas on October 21st at Trees. You can purchase tickets here. Theophilus London - I Stand Alone (Ocelot Remix)

New remix from Ocelot of Theophilus London's track "I Stand Alone". This particular remix came out about two weeks ago, but I just heard it today as it reached #4 on Hype Machine's Most Popular list. The tune is somewhat different than previous remixes that the duo have put out, but still very good nonetheless. One half of Ocelot was in town this past Thursday night at Rio Room, and was told it was a great set. Check out and download the new remix below.

Cut Copy - Blink and You'll Miss a Revolution (Video)

Cut Copy has released the video for "Blink and You'll Miss a Revolution", the latest single from the LP Zonoscope. The Planet Of The Apes-esque video was directed by Emile Sornin. Tonight is the first date of their Fall tour with Washed Out and Midnight Magic. No Dallas date, but they will be playing this Saturday at the nearly sold out Austin City Limits Music Festival. Below is the new video, along with a remix of the track by Toro Y Moi added as a bonus.

DJ Mehdi - TragicoMehdi (R.I.P.)

This morning, I awoke to the terrible news of the passing of French electro producer DJ Mehdi. According to DJ Mag, he was on the roof of his home in Paris with a group of friends celebrating the birthday of Riton, his partner in Carte Blanche, when the roof collapsed. A number of other people are reported to have been injured as well. Mehdi is considered to be one of the pioneers in mixing electronic music and hip-hop. Mehdi's standout track "I Am Somebody", which features Chromeo, was used in a commercial in the U.S. for XM Radio. Back in February, Medhi produced a tune for Ed Banger's Let The Children Techno compilation in what would become his final original release. Eerily enough, the tune is called "TragicoMehdi". SBTRKT - Pharaohs feat. Roses Gabor (Video)

London producer SBTRKT has a new video for the song "Pharaohs", which features vocals by Roses Gabor. The tune is from SBTRKT's self-titled debut album, out now on Young Turks. The video was directed by Tim Brown. SBTRKT, who made his live U.S. debut with vocalist-keyboardist Sampha back in July, has been very busy this summer playing shows and festivals such as Reading, iTunes, and Bestival. Justice - Audio, Video, Disco (Video)

The video for Justice's new single "Audio, Video, Disco" has been released. The single, which is the title track off their upcoming album, was leaked on to the Internet over the weekend in advance of its September 19th release. The new tune takes on a faster tempo than the previously released single "Civilization", clocking in around 150 beats per minute. The video was directed by So Me, the man who also directed SebastiAn's "Embody" video. The full album, Audio, Video, Disco, will be released October 25th on Ed Banger Records. Enjoy the video below.
